For machinery applications that need balancing, levelling, flattening, and smoothing, KS-Jackscrews® provide a safe, accurate and cost-effective solution.
KS-Jackscrews® help level base plates and sole plates during construction activities typically associated with rotating machines, general equipment, pipe supports and steel construction in industrial complexes. They are used for assemblies in machine, apparatus, steel, and industrial plant construction, and in structural and civil engineering, such as foundations of buildings and bridges.
How they work
KS-Jackscrews® are installed between the foundation and machine plate or base frame.
The height can be set after the equipment or building element has been installed by adjusting the nut of the KS-Jackscrew® with an open-end wrench.
Unlike multiple steel plates and / or shims, its Condisc enables uniform contact without high spots and associated load concentrations. This means its levelling head constantly and coherently adapts to the mounting object over the entire surface during the leveling process.
After levelling, the anchor bolts are grouted and, after hardening of the grout, tightened. This enables the baseplates or pedestals to be grouted while leaving the KS-Jackscrews® in place and eliminates the need for cranage.
They can also be used as a lifting device in confined spaces, where cranes or other lifting devices cannot be used, saving time and money.
To level large frames and machines, we suggest fixing KS-jackscrews® with a suitable epoxy cement.
Benefits
KS-Jackscrews have a range of benefits. They:
- make it easy, safe and precise to set up and level machines, apparatus, base frames and scaffolding on the foundation or on structures
- eliminate the need for shims and wedges
- can be employed with minimal force using a standard wrench and without any lifting devices
- have proven themselves worldwide for more than 50 years
- are firmly anchored in the factory standards of well-known companies
- can be safely used in “one-person use” without additional tools
- can also be used as tools
- are available in numerous special designs – even in the smallest quantities
- are superior to other technologies, especially in the overall cost comparison
- are extremely resilient – they can tolerate a static load up to kN 600
