Today we get to know ESI Tech Group Service & Compliance Supervisor Paul Johnson.
Having worked with ESI Tech Group for just over two years, Paul originally provided offshore electrical services and now provides EEHA and compliance services and technical / engineering advice.
A versatile, organised team member, with strong technical knowledge from more than 18 years’ experience offshore and 35 years’ experience overall in the electrical industry, Paul brings a unique skill set to ESI Tech Group.
What’s an average day look like for you?
- Reviewing work planning
- Compiling EEHA reports
- Providing engineering, procurement and customer service
- Site work: EEHA inspections/remedial work
- Offshore electrical service work
What’s been your biggest challenge / learning?
I’m always looking to develop and learn, particularly in regard to electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres.
What’s been the most rewarding / satisfying?
Running an offshore drilling rig – Stena Clyde.
How do you think the industry has changed / is changing?
Technology has changed the way we work, and we focus more than ever on safety.
